Dr. Praveena Maharaj is the recipient of the prestigious National Milani Internship Award of 2009.

She was an official presenter and speaker at the 2009 Annual National Congress of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa in Cape Town.

She was an official presenter and speaker at the 2010 Faculty of Health Sciences Research Day at the Durban University of Technology.

Dr. Maharaj formed part of the South African delegation of four, who represented the country at the World Federation of Chiropractic Conference in Rio de Janero, Brazil in April 2011.

She has completed the academic component of her studies without any repetitions of courses.

She saw a record number of patients during the completion of her internship at the Chiropractic Day Clinic at Mansfield Road, Durban, and graduated ahead of her chiropractic class at the Durban University of Technology.  At the time, she was the youngest qualified Chiropractor in South Africa when she qualified.

She has attended and completed numerous journal article publication workshops, and her Masters dissertation article based on her thesis entitled “The Knowledge and Perception of Provincial and National Health Portfolio Committee Members of South Africa regarding the Chiropractic profession” is in the process of being published in the international Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics.

She is an active registered member of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA) and she is registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) and Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF), so you are assured of the highest quality treatment and care.

She is a Masters level Chiropractic Research Supervisor, who assists chiropractic students with the completion of their Masters level theses at the Durban University of Technology.

Dr. Maharaj is a part-time lecturer at the Durban University of Technology where she lectures subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology.

She also finds time to perform community service: as a voluntary clinician on duty for a community service initiative at the Narain Jeawon Vedic Centre in Sea Cow Lake, in association with the Arya Prathinidhi Sabha and the Durban University of Technology.  This project allows chiropractic interns to offer free chiropractic care, on a weekly basis, to Sea Cow Lake community members who are disadvantaged and impoverished, and would otherwise not have access to quality chiropractic care.

She attends numerous nutritional, supplementation and chiropractic workshops and seminars to keep up to date with the latest advances in technology and chiropractic care.
